Many Twitter users were unable to tweet around 90 minutes yesterday

Many Twitter users were unable to tweet for around 90 minutes yesterday. They received a message saying that their daily limit of tweets got over.

There was a problem especially sending tweets from mobile phones. Mobile users were receiving message like, “Tweet not sent” and “We’re sorry we weren’t able to send your tweet. Would you like to retry or save this tweet in drafts?” Users also faced difficulties in sending or loading direct messages.

The users experienced site down from 4:30 pm to 6 pm ET yesterday. During this time many users reported the issue.

As the twitter site was down, users were able to schedule their tweets using the calendar icon.

Twitter has not declared any update regarding maximum daily limit of tweets. However, Twitter’s website mentions that users can send maximum 2,400 tweets per day and maximum 500 direct messages.

The company twitted that the error was most probably because of a temporary glitch. The company wrote from its Twitter Support account, “Twitter may not be working as expected for some of you. Sorry for the trouble. We’re aware and working to get this fixed.”
